What is DeathStar?
There are hundreds or even thousands of Kodi addons to choose from. And if you are like many others, you want to know what’s unique with DeathStar and what promises it holds.
DeathStar is a Kodi addon for streaming your favorite on-demand movies, TV shows, podcasts, music, sports and much more. It was developed in 2018 and released in August of the same year. The addon works well with all devices including Android devices, Windows, Linux, and Firestick. It is compatible with Kodi 19 Matrix and previous versions such as Kodi 18 Leia and Kodi 17 Krypton.
It comes preloaded with a dizzying amount of addons. To be precise, DeathStar has 40 addons at the time of writing this guide. This number will only rise as the developer teams are still very active and constantly updating the content and fixing bugs. This makes DeathStar the single-most ambitious project to date for combining so many addons into one bundle.
Even with its many addons, DeathStar is able to stream high quality content without lag or buffering.
Despite packing its own complete library of addons, you should not confuse it with a Kodi build. DeathStar is simply an addon.
Everything you watch using Kodi leaves footprints that can easily be tracked by government agencies and your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
It’s important to understand that streaming movies and TV shows on any of the 3rd party Kodi addons may be subject to copyright issues. This is because some of the 3rd party Kodi addons are essentially accessing content that is otherwise behind the paywall.
On top of it, many of the free streaming applications are hosted in insecure servers which means that you are exposed to hacking risks.
Users who love to stay in bed throughout the weekend and watch content on Kodi are also exposed to ISP throttling. This means that your internet service provider may deliberately slow down your internet connection if it detects too excessive streaming activity at your end.
To avoid potential hacking risk, ISP throttling, government surveillance, and Geo-restrictions on the content you are trying to watch, we recommend using a VPN.
Here are the key benefits of hiding your IP (using VPN):
1) You can access Geo-restricted content.
2) You can avoid ISP throttling.
3) You can avoid unwanted surveillance by government agencies and ISPs.
4) You can protect yourself from hackers.
In order to stay safe, we recommend using a PrivateVPN.
Connect PrivateVPN on all of your streaming devices (iOS, Windows, Android, Amazon Fire TV, etc.) and enjoy worry-free & high-speed movie experience 24/7.

Common Kodi DeathStar errors and how to fix them?
You may face a few working issues that need troubleshooting. The most common errors include:
Error Check log
This error appears if you have a filled up cache or there are some missing files in the installation repository. To fix this error, clear up your cache and back-end data or try to use a different repository for installation.
No stream available
If you encounter this error it may mean two things: the stream you are looking for does not exist or you may have network connectivity issues. Your firewall may also be blocking the addon from catching any stream. To fix this issue, clear your cache and ensure that you have a fast internet connection.
Failed to install dependency error
This error is caused by a repository that is not working. Ensure that you are installing from the latest DeathStar repository URL.
Can’t connect to the server
This error occurs if you are trying to install the addon from a broken source link or an incorrect repository source. From the file manager, check that you are using the correct source link or search for an alternative repository if it’s not working.
Is DeathStar Legal?
We obviously wouldn’t advise anyone to engage in any form of illegal streaming activity. The question of whether DeathStar is legal can only be answered partially.
The truth is, DeathStar isn’t found in Kodi’s official repository and you may have to install it from an external source. This is more often a clear warning sign that not all content is legal to stream using the addon.
How do I use Deathstar?
You can search for movies by title or genre; you can also find TV shows by name as well.
Who developed DeathStar?
Every once in a while, a team of developers comes together to create a new addon with the same promise of a great streaming experience and unlimited entertainment. DeathStar is one of the latest Kodi addons to come out of such a collaboration. At least 18 developer teams were involved in the creation of DeathStar. These are:
- House of Blue
- One Nation
- Mr. Bandicoots
- Tol’s Tutorials
- One Cool Guy
- Nole Nation
Is this addon’s content free or paid?
All content offered through Deathstar is completely free; no need to spend any money on anything here!
What kind of videos are supported by Deathstar?
You can stream videos in any format with this addon – all content is on-demand and free to enjoy including HD movies from every genre as well as TV shows, live sports, documentaries, and more!
How do I install DeathStar On My Firestick?
Open settings from your Kodi home screen and turn on installation from unknown sources. Go to the previous screen and click File Manager. Click add source, then “Add none”. Type in the repository URL when prompted to enter the URL path. Name the source “DeathStar”. Click “Addons”, select the DeathStar zip file and install from the repository. Click video addons to install. You should be able to access DeathStar from your Kodi home screen.
Should I use a VPN with DeathStar Kodi addon?
Yes. I would recommend using a secure VPN when installing and using any 3rd party Kodi addons including DeathStar. This ensures your privacy and anonymity are maintained when streaming.
Wrapping up, I think DeathStar is one of the best Kodi addons at the moment. The sheer amount of preloaded addons gives you endless options for streaming your favorite content.
